TRAVIS HATTON, MUSIC DIRECTOR
In Memoriam
In Memoriam
It is with deep sadness that the Sunnyside Symphony Orchestra announces that on Monday, October 3, we unexpectedly lost our Music Director, Travis Hatton. Travis started the Sunnyside Symphony in 2002 and out of passion and devotion grew it into one of the premier community orchestras in the Portland area. Most of all, he believed in us. Just knowing that made us better musicians and, ultimately, a better orchestra. Travis had a gift of bringing out the best in all of us.
As musicians, we are all honored to have performed music's greatest masterpieces under Travis' baton. He loved his musicians and he loved making music with us. The Sunnyside Symphony is resolved to carry on his vision by continuing to practice, rehearse, and perform in his honor.
Our love goes out to his wife, Lynelle, and children, Kyle and Kara. We add our condolences to those who are mourning this loss to the music community.
